Ps3 Rpg Games

So this game came out a couple years ago. It was actually first released on the Xbox 360 before it was ported over to the Playstation 3. It has decent graphics and an okay story. There weren’t many dark elements in the game it was pretty bright and colorful throughout most of the game.
The game starts out as a turn based rpg game but it turns into more of an action Rpg game towards the end. A lot of people will like this better as it becomes more engaging. You are able to block and counterattack and get to start doing commands very quickly.
Overall though this is a pretty fun Ps3 Rpg game. It really does look beautiful too. You can buy it pretty cheap now maybe even less than $10-15. There is also a free demo available on the playstation network store. Check out the prices and video review below

This is an older game, but many people are saying how much fun they had with this game. There is a lot of stuff to be done in this game! Could take you well over 100 hours to do everything in it. You pick one of 6 possible characters to try and stop the dark spawns that are trying to resurrect arch demons. The story is very satisfying.
You can choose from 3 different races, human, elf and dwarf. And you can choose from 3 different classes, warrior, mage, or rogue. The back story of the game can change drastically depending on which character you choose. The game has good music and some great voice acticg, but a few that maybe they should of left out :P
Each character has a starting background origin story for each character that can be played through in under an hour. After that the world opens up for you and you have many options to choose from. There is a lot going on during the fights though and can make it difficult to follow everything going on.
Depending on how you interact with your party you make them like you, or dislike you. You may them to attack you, or even leave. Sometimes you can get them to teach you abilities or open up side quests if you build a good relationship with them. Your actions throughout the game will actually have consequences on what happens. This game has great replay value has you can play with each different character class and get different outcomes each time.

I have only played the Demo of this game that is available on the PlayStation Network. I must say… I was not very impressed. It was your typical hack and slash type of game. I actually put in a $5 pre-order at Game Stop for this game a couple months ago, but am yet to buy it… and thinking I probably won’t.
It seemed like it might have an elaborate story but the conversations in the demo at least seemed very dull to me and just kept having you ask silly questions. There are no load screens however in this game which is a plus… unlike in Demon’s Souls where the loading screens got a little annoying(suppose to be different in Dark souls however).
I played some downloadable game on the PlayStation Network called Dungeon Hunter I think? That game was more entertaining to me then this one seemed to be.I was having high hopes for this game too! Maybe I didn’t give it a fair chance though. Check out the video review below.
You can buy this game by clicking here. It is actually bit cheaper here than in stores.

Another Ps3 Rpg game! Okay I’ll start of by saying this isn’t your typical RPG game… the battles have more of a strategy type of game to it :) Whatever you want to call it I must say I was very impressed with this game. I actually watched a video of someone playing it and wasn’t interested at all but then when the playstation store opened back up a couple months ago (has it been that long?) I saw in the game demo’s and I was just downloading all the free stuff I could find with the network back online. ^_^I started playing the demo and beat through that pretty quickly and it said to buy the full game at the end and… I did! I really enjoyed the Ps3 Rpg game.
It did make me replay the beginning part again though, I’m not sure if there is a way around that or not. I would suggest people at least try the free demo though and see if you enjoy this type of game! The story mode had 5 different character stories to play through that I thought were pretty fun! I played through this game in a couple days almost non stop it got me hooked! I may even go play it some more now :) There is also an online feature where you can battle vs other players!
The fighting system is somewhat hard to explain but you pretty get a bunch of men on the field that you line up in row or columns of 3 to make a wall formation or an attacking formation and try to bring your opponents HP to 0. You get bonus when you make combos in a turn and could build up magic power until you can cast a powerful spell. Each character has their own unique spell they can cast.
Anyway I won’t go on too long about this game but I suggest everyone just buy this game since it is pretty cheap in the playstation store, or at least try the free demo… it is FREE after all :)
Here’s a quick 2 minute video review. This guys talks pretty fast! :)

I played White Knight Chronicles shortly before Final Fantasy XIII came out, as I believe it was released a little before then ;) I had fun playing this game but am yet to beat it to this day. The game seemed quite a bit like Final Fantasy XII(which I did enjoy), at least the fighting system seemed to be similar to it. You would run around in an open field with a timer that fills up before you can choose an action, with ways to automate it as well similar to the gambit system in ff12 but not quite as effective and actually had a pretty basic fighting system. There was something called combat chips that you would build up by killing enemies which would allow you to perform more powerful moves and combos, or turn into the White Knight! J The White Knight becomes somewhat lame after a while though as it’s not that exciting to control and usually wins you the battle pretty easily. The battle system also seems to have a lot of annoying wait times in it!
The storyline of the game wasn’t all that excited as we all know the save the princess storyline and this game was a follower of that… but the cinemas in the game were enjoyable and the voice acting wasn’t too shabby but the game just didn’t quite click to make it really enjoyable. I stopped playing it when another game came out… you can probably guess which! I was probably around half way through the game and there were some things about it that I just didn’t like the leveling system and picking different moves that all seemed the same and having to make all your own combos… although some people do find that part really cool I’d rather just keep the game going. The game is pretty linear with stars on the map telling you where to go next, but you are able to go off and do some side quests throughout the game very similar also to Final Fantasy XII’s “hunts.” The ones in White Knight Chronicles can be done online with multiple players though… I however never experienced this so maybe I was missing out on a big part of the game!
So once again the voice acting was decent and the way the story was presented kept it interesting! I do intend to finish this game but I heard in White Knight Chronicles 2 the original game will actually be included with updated features making the game better to play so I may wait until then! Check out the blatantly honest video review below to see this game in action, they didn’t have much nice to say about it however :P
You can Buy White Knight Chronicles here but I would suggest preordering the second game as it comes with an improved version.
Pre-order White Knight Chronicles 2 here. It comes out in September!

With me being a big Final Fantasy fan i figured might as well review Final Fantasy 13 next! This game differs greatly from any of the previous Final Fantasy games. For large portion of the game you are never free to roam around on the world map and the game is pretty linear as far as exploration character development to some extent. They made this game focusing more on the story line and HD graphics(which are great!).
I really enjoyed that part of the game. I really liked how this game was similar to FF6(which is awesome) how you control different characters at different times and switch between groups a lot.
The battle system in this game is also different from any other Final Fantasy game as well. It starts out pretty simple where you can be on auto pilot on the relentless assault paradigm shift(battle strategy) until later on in the game it becomes more challenging and complex system and you have to constantly pick the best paradigm to shift to.
It has the active time battle still but usually use the auto-selected choices so the battles seemed more automatically, but really in a lot of rpg games you can just hold x and keep attacking, this game actually required you to know what you needed to use against opponent types and use the right paradigm. You level your characters up through 6 different job roles and this really affects how the game plays. I could talk about the battle system for a while but perhaps check out the video below and see it action :)
A lot of people didn’t like this Final Fantasy game, probably because it was different from the usual final fantasy games, a lot like how people didn’t like Final Fantasy 12… but different isn’t necessarily bad! I thought the story was great in this game, a long with a lot of great cut scenes and flashbacks throughout the game.
Although it wasn’t quite as good as I was hoping for, I played through it a couple times and would suggest people give it a shot… hey they are even making a second one because the game did so well! I hope you enjoyed my Final Fantasy 13 Review. You can buy this game pretty cheap now. Check out prices and the video review below.

The first game I’m going to review is probably my favorite Ps3 Rpg game I’ve played. If you’ve heard anything about this game, you’ve probably heard that it is HARD! I’m here to tell you that… you probably heard right!
The first time I played this game it took me a very long time just to beat the first level. The hardest part about the game is understanding that you are meant to die, and will die often, and compared to other rpg games is that there are no save spots, the game saves automatically. So you may have just played 30 minutes getting to the boss of a level and then get killed against the boss and have to start the level over from the start. The combat system of the game is nice and easy to get down, so when you die it’s because you made a mistake not because the game was unfair.
Thankfully in this game the difficulty lies in knowing what to do in a level, after you have gone through a level it tends to be much easier now that you know where to go! It just gets annoying because when you die you lose all the souls, which are used as money and for leveling your character in this game. Thankfully you can get them back when you get back to where you died, but that’s only IF you make it there without dying! Unfortunately after you have died you are in “soul form” and you only get 1/2 the hp as well, not making it any easier! During the first level you start out dead as well, not making the game easy from the get go! There is a ring you find in the first level thankfully that brings your hp to 3/4 in soul form though.
This game does have online features and even pvp (player vs player) components in it. There are notes often left by other players in tricky spots in the game giving you tips, making it easier for you. Players can team up with each other to go through levels and even to fight a boss so the game can actually be made pretty easy by doing this. With that said, it still is very possible to beat the game on your own. Here is a video review of the game!

Welcome to Ps3 Rpg Games blog. Here I will discuss the best Ps3 Rpg games… and maybe some not so good ones! I’ve been a huge fan of rpg games since I was a little kid and my first video game experience I can remember is playing “Final Fantasy 2″ on the snes, aka Final Fantasy 4. So naturally the Final Fantasy games have been at the top of my list for a long time. Here I will discuss the best ps3 games currently available by giving my opinion on them, or if I haven’t played them I will research as much as I can about the game and link to other reviews. I’ll also compile my list of the top rpg games at one point and we can all have fun debating about that :) As for the review of the Ps3 Rpg games I will be starting those within the next few days so check back soon!
